per vehicle, so plan accordingly. 2001 annual Park Permits will be available to those who want them for $20.00.
REGISTRATION AND STARTING TIMES: 8:30
A.M. TO 10:30 A.M.
Units may NOT
start hiking after 10:30 A.M. - Cost $4.00 per hiker.
LENGTH: 5 TO 10 MILES (YOUR OPTION). Hiking time is 2 to 4 hours
on the distance you choose to hike. You are expected to finish the trail and check-out by 4:00 P.M.
Please plan to hike only the winter portion of the trail (not the entire trail). Hot chocolate will be served on the trail as usual. A beautiful patch is included. There must be TWO adult hikers with each Unit. Be sure all of your youth are adequately attired for the weather, no tennis shoes or snowmobile boots. (All of our foot injuries have been people wearing athletic shoes.) Bring your first aid kit. Leaders must insure proper winter clothing, gloves, boots, etc. This hike is not designed for Cub Scouts or family pets.
The Unit Leader must have a parent permission slip for each youth in case hospitalization or medical treatment is needed. Reproduce locally or pick them up at the Scout Service Center. Many Units keep these on file in their Unit records for use on all activities.
Do not plan on cooking a lunch on the trail. There isn't time. Bring a sack lunch with hot soup or drink in a thermos.
